Contemplative Claywork

Contemplative practices such as mindfulness, bodywork, and meditation have been used for thousands of years to cultivate wisdom, clarity, kindness and wellbeing. Increased awareness of our body and physical senses is a fundamental gateway towards these qualities and the foundation for mindful and wise awareness.

Buddhist teacher and peace activist Thich Nat Hahn, reminds us that “We are of the earth, not on the earth”. Since clay is quite literally the ‘body’ of our planet and home, working with clay is a powerful tool for reconnecting to our own body, senses and inner world.
